FMV script Empty FMV script

Post  SilentMirage on Mon Apr 05, 2010 7:03 pm

Speaking of the FMV script, normally I don't open this one very early but the "Table of Contents" thread opened and got my attention.

Anyway, my revised GDI storyline have some of the FMVs' scripts revised, but yeah, my story follows on EA's storyline. Phew, luckily the FMV didn't mention about the Crawler, but at least the TCN thing is not that bad.

And by the way, how can we create FMVs of our own? We're not like EA who has the resources and such. The Forgotten mod did it like that before, but sadly, the actors are just your average neighbors next door, otherwise, the acting is serious and good just like Westwood did by hiring non-famous actors and focus more on serious acting. Any ideas?

Right now I don't recommend talking about it just yet, we can't have new FMV scripts if we haven't finish the new storylines just yet.

I just took a look on this thread.

average neighbors next door? Lol. You could say we are like them, only crazier. lol! Trust us. This gonna be our biggest project to date, and if someone on this modteam is not satisfied, then we have to do it over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over untill every is satisfied.

Whow, you don't need to write all that numerous over words.

Anyway, yes, like Dr. Michio Kaku from "Sci-Fi Science", we the fans are his judges. So we'll do our best that we will provide what the fans want. A little bit we're kind of like the very listening Westwood Studios.

we need to come to a general agreement on the campaign, but we need to listen to the ideas comming across.
we should organize a major campaign discussion i'd be able to join on MSN, but i'll see if i can get skype - as that seems to be the main IM from what i hear.

This might go to sound unfair but we must be careful of impostors who disguise as a Westwood fan. Yes, we will bring hardcore WW fanboys to discuss on the campaigns, as for those who are very very faithful to EA, I suggest they should be monitored for their behavior. When I was at CNCNZ, their main admin, Sonic & Nmenth his right hand, are hardcore EA fanboys, they have no true respect for WW fanboys. Every time they fight with WW users, they always intend to say the infamous sentence of "Westwood is dead. PLEASE MOVE ON & support EA!" or similar, that kind of insult hurts me really bad and I'm forced not to write negative comments whenever EA releases any C&C4 unit profiles (Only those that are done pretty bad, particularly the Scorpion Tank & Stealth Tank, Avatar, etc..) without causing myself to be permanently banned.

Anyway, once the new forum comes out, the campaign section is going to be very flooded with suggestions and discussions. As for me, I'm a full timer, can't help much, worse, I don't use Messengers. I'm mostly more on emails & Private Messages.

So far, let's get ready when Naraku is ready to cut the ribbon for his brand new forum.

I think this should be a realtime discussion about the choice of the campaign - of course we will consider what has been suggested on the forums, but I don't see why you are so irritated by EA, They've done the story - we aren't here to re-develop the whole game, just add in the things that made tiberian sun a great game to play(and in some respects C&C:3).

Face up to the facts; that we simple do not have the resources to design a whole game, this is why I'd like to see some structured plan for the factions first (GDI and Nod first please!) - if we jump into the campaign we may as well be calling this a campaign expansion and/or simply bombard ourselves with too much work.

As it sounds; Slient Mirage, you seem to be bias toward westwood - don't get me wrong i love their C&C tib sun, RA2 yuri's revenge; maybe you should consider taking the highlights from Tib sun, explain to the team what you think made firestorm and tibsun so great, for me this would of been the mutations in the wildlife, as all hard core WW fans scatter themselves from the series, we should show respect for the things EA brought in, such as the Scrin which in my opinion were early - but well designed and had a great structure in the storyline.

This mod is supposed to take place after the events of KW, and we will design our gameplay from that, we are willing to take ideas from earlier and even other games, but keep in mind that this is not a Tiberian Sun 2.0

it won't be Tiberian sun .2, but it should contain the things which made it great, such as the unique light lamps, tiberium fauna, general background things.

Well Fiend, I understand. I do have my respect that EA did ok with C&C3, but unfortunately, the way how they treat the franchise just got worse and worse for every new game they create (Except KW). After WW was bought by EA, I put my faith in EA that they'll follow WW's footsteps, but unfortunately, they do not, that's why my anti-EA hatred grows. And then the hatred just got even stronger with the production of C&C4 (Before it was released that is).

When it comes to the respective universe of which one's the best and last. In my opinion, I say :

Tiberium - The last is C&C3 + KW
Red Alert - RA2 + Yuri's Revenge. Note that I don't count on RA3, but I do love the EotRS faction ONLY. The other 2 factions + Uprising are just no good for me.

PS : If you recall the Michio Kaku part, WE are the judges of how a game should be made. But according to EA, their judges are mostly among themselves, we the fans are not much involved because they do not want to listen to us. Even the Hitler rant said, if they listened to fans at 100%, the C&C4 disaster could have been avoided. As for C&C4's development, the judges are all 100% coming from the EA dev team, we the fans are all 0%.

I remeber how thrilled I was about C&C4 when the first teaser and screenshots came. I was so psyched.
I talked about it every day, checked the site every hour, thought about how good this was going to be. And all was because the teaser showed that it would be dark and gritty, like in TS. But, boy-oh-boy. They just HAD to ruin the one good series I remeber from my childhood.
So, EA. You ruined my childhood. Great.
But yeh, I remember when I started hating EA this much. It was the minute they put that Tiberium Harvesting video up. That's the moment I remeber the best. That's the moment when all my joy for C&C4 turned into hatred.
But meh, for the full rant, go check (My friend's and my site, BAAProductions) this place. If you ask about all those swears and stuff, it's because I was so (fucking) angry. All my childhood memories, everything what I loved in C&C, was gone. I died a little inside that day.
God, EALA.

I understand, you too. Like I did put my faith in EA, but they just got worse and worse and you know the rest. Me too, the C&C4 cinematic teaser was promising, but later on, it's just got worse and it's no damn good! The 1st Crawler video is already an insult to the hardcore C&C fans.

Yes, but one day when this mod comes to life, we'll show EA that this is how C&C should have done. If they dare to close the mod, boycott or protest in front of their office is an a must. If the Left 4 Dead or Valve fans who boycotted Left 4 Dead 2 can, we should follow them too! No matter if it's a failure or not, we will push EA to its punishment!

I understand, it's just that the company is making us crazy sometimes. Sad Look what they had done to their own games and even the fans also do not appreciate of what they were doing. C&C ain't the only one, I heard there's Battlefield & Need for Speed to name a few.

Yea I know EA wreaked the game for me too, but its not beyond saving for me anyway; I just think it was recieved so badly by the community that they dismiss anything good about what EA tried to do.

I don't blame anyone - but we are trying to make it feel and play better, rather than complain about it.

Honestly, the blame & community war will keep on continuing as long as EA keeps the franchise alive instead of giving an honorary burial. Money is their bloodline instead of entertaining people.

That's why, honestly, I feel my hatred will not end until EA nails the franchise for good. But too bad, they bring in the might & magic Jon Van Caneghem to manage the franchise afterwards. And don't forget, Adam Isgreen did comment on C&C4 too, his comment is long and I got the feeling his heart is feeling broken of what EA did. I bet Brett Sperry will also feel the same if he were reading his comments or play the C&C4 game.

http://obscured-view.com/?p=449

So far, we must be on the lookout, I bet EA is planning another con scheme just like they did with C&C4. Even after Starcraft 2 comes out, the C&C4 & anti-EA hatred I bet will never go away. So for this mod, we'll do our best to make sure we do the mod that pleases the fans and hopefully seals all of our hatreds for good (Hopefully they'll turn to us and betrays EA), just like if we were the original Westwood dev team & its 2 founding fathers.

Maybe you're right. If we have plenty of new stuff that relates to our mod, they'll keep me busy to contribute towards it without knocking into EA.

As of now, Naraku still hasn't open the gates towards the new website yet. Still hurts to continue to wait, let's hope it'll pays off when he finally cuts the ribbons.

Considering today is my last final and I'm the website admin, I'll see what I can do about opening the project forums a little earlier than expected. Smile
